Warmup:

  1. Log into your wikis
  2. For each of the following words, define it AND give an example of something that falls under its definition
    • Copyright
    • Patent
    • Trademark

Agenda:

  • Review Copyrights and fair use
  • Introduction to Patents
    • Media:Patents.ppt
    • Using Google Patent Search, search and browse for the following patents:
      • Monopoly, spork, and something of your choice
    • Patent Assignment - Type up a fake patent for your own invention. Include the following information:
      1. Name of invention (which is like a short description)
      2. Inventor
      3. File date
      4. COMPLETE Description
      5. Sketch/drawing of your invention with labels
  • Work on your project. Don't forget to add entries to your log book!

Monday (2/7/11)

Thursday (2/3/11)

  • Turn in Criterion I
  • Open Dreamweaver
  • Download a template from Dreamweaver Templates or Dreamweaver Templates 2
  • Walk through editing one of the templates with your own customizations
  • Demo a customized template that is built for your project

Monday - Tuesday (1/24/11 - 2/1/11)

Warmup:

  • Find an IT article within the last month
  • Respond to the following questions on your wiki:
    • Today's date
    • Link and title of the article
    • Synopsis of the article
    • Identify the stakeholders
    • Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article
    • Identify the area of impact (look at the front board on the left)
    • What is your opinion of the issue? i.e. How does it affect you? How do you feel about that?

Agenda:

  • Paper prototyping
    1. Obtain 3-5 sheets of paper from Mr. Bui
    2. Fold each of the sheets in half (as shown by Mr. Bui)
    3. Put your name and today's date at the top of the sheet
    4. Each half sheet of paper will be a sketch or panel of your ITGS project
    5. Paper-clip and show Mr. Bui your sketches by the end of class
