Scratch - Sound Board Assignment

Objectives:

  • After creating this program, the student will be able to:
    • Detect different keys being pressed
    • Play sounds in Scratch
    • Move the sprite when a key is pressed

Directions:

  1. Create a Scratch program named soundboard
  2. Choose a sprite that you would like to use
  3. Download or record 6 different sound clips (each of which will be used for a different key)
  4. Use the "When ____ key pressed" block, for each of the following keys:
    • Q-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the upper-left
    • W-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the upper-middle
    • E-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the upper-right
    • A-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the lower-left
    • S-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the lower-middle
    • D-key should play a sound and then glide your sprite to the lower-right
  5. Demonstrate your program to Mr. Bui
