RTF

From WLCS

RTF stands for Rich Text Format. "RTF is the file format used by many word processing applications, it retains formatting that the basic .txt file does not."[1]

To a 10-year-old, this means that RTF is a way to save things you have typed on the computer and to keep how those things look.

RTF was created by Microsoft, and as such it can be read by applications like Word, WordPad, and WordPerfect.
