  • windows 8 build 7955 has leaked
  • One of the social and ethical issues would be Intellectual Property, because the real owner of Microsoft, Bill Gates, has the copyright to protect his created property.
  • Another issues would be policies and standard Bill Gates should make some better policies and standards so that this kind of issues will not happen anymore.
  • One of the areas of impact would be science and & the environment, because it is illegal to leak someone elses property, and its going to effect

  • Copyright- is the special rights given to the author or the creator of the original work, copyright does not protect ideas, only their expressions. Copyright owners have the exclusive statutory right to exercise control over copying and other exploitation of the works for a specific period of time, after which the work is said to enter the public domain. Fro example- right to copy, distribute and adapt the work.
  • Patent- is the set of rights given by the state,to an inventor for a limited period of time in exchange of a public disclosure of an invention. This special right actually limits the access to use, sell or distribute the original work without permission. For example- Amazon.com has their own patent to sell stuffs online.
  • Trademark- is basically the logo or symbol which represents a certain product/company. For example- Apple's logo.

  • Apple exceeds 10 billion apps downloaded
  • Apple app store exceeded 10 billion last Sunday, it started in 2008. Many of the iphone apps are free, while others starts at 99 cents. As part of the iTunes Store, and paved the way for others, such as Google's Android, Research In Motion's BlackBerry, HP's Palm and Microsoft's Windows mobile platforms to start their own app stores. None have come close to Apple's success, with more than 300,000 apps. or programs in the App Store. Second to it is the Android Market, which has more than 130,000 apps available. Three of the top five free App Store apps, as of Saturday, are mainly games: Bubble Ball — downloaded hundreds of thousands of times — and created by a 14-year-old Utah boy; Paper Glider, iFace Fat (a "practical joke" app that makes a photo of someone's face fat), Google Places and the free version of the hugely popular game, Angry Birds. The top five paid apps as of Saturday are all games that cost 99 cents: Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, Burn the Rope and Angry Birds Seasons. And App Store downloads are likely to swell even more next month when the iPhone becomes available on Verizon Wireless' network.
  • The stakeholders will be people who are using app store and also the competitors who are trying to get the popularity as apple app store.
  • Social and ethical issues: 1)equality of access, because its really easy in apple app store to get mobile apps easily for free. 2)Policies and standards, because, in apple app store the standard and policies are way better than Microsoft or HP.
  • art, entertainment and leisure: because its a great source of entertainment for most of the people.
  • My opinion is, apple app store is actually really good, and its getting bigger day by days, and also there are some apps which are free and easy to get.

  • Shuttle Cracks Won't Delay Launch: NASA Report
  • The launch of the space shuttle discovery remains on track for early February, despite the need for additional repairs to the shuttle's fuel tank, according to NASA officials. When discovery heads to the international space station on its final mission, it will be taking with it two key components-the Italic-built Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) and Express Logistics Carrier 4 (ELC4)—that will provide spare parts and storage capacity to the orbiting complex.
  • The stakeholders are the companies investing their money for this mission, and the people from NASA who are working on it.
  • Reliability: because people are relying on the machine to successfully complete the mission.
  • Science and Environment: Because if this mission is successfully done, it would be a major event in the field of science.
  • In my opinion that's a huge mission, and it has taken almost 26 years to do this, so it would be one of the greatest successes for NASA.

  • What is the hourly salary of one of the newly hired BMW U.S. autoworkers? What is the hourly salary of the same autoworker if they worked in Germany?
  • Newly hired BMW U.S autoworkers get $15 per hour, about half of what the typical German autoworker makes.
  • Are you surprised by the pay differential between the U.S. and Germany? Why or why not?
  • I am kind of surprised but in some point of views, its kind of logical if they are less paid, in the article, new hires at the plant are not directly employed by BMW but come through a contractor, although the automakers says some of the new workers might eventually be hired by BMW and work their way up to the higher wage. and there is also some issues between Americans unions, and German union.
  • Can you think of other industries and/or countries that would offshore to the U.S.? Explain.
  • India can offshore to the U.S because, there is a huge competition between these countries which and offshoring might help the country
  • UPLOADING

  • The fact that careers are all but selected for students in India and China also allows them to focus more in particular fields, providing them the opportunity to take classes in that field before they are even out of high school. This drastically contrasts with American high school students who usually do not even think about their careers until they are preparing to apply to colleges and may even change their intended careers halfway through college. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Why?
  • I think is a good thing, because, it helps students to experiment with their own interests, and they want to work on. But if students have a goal, they might get into trouble at the end. In India and China, students decide what they are gonna do in future, it helps them to make different choices, and also they can think about back-up options about what they are gonne do if they fail to get thwe goal, so from my point of view, its a good thing, and student should get a chance to decide by themselves what they want to do in future.

  • I think the students chosen to represent Americans were a pretty good depiction of some of the top students we have here. Do you agree or disagree? Why?
  • I agree, because in America most of the students are basically more interested in extra-curricular activites and also students get into jobs before graduating from high school, there are very less students who totally focuses on academic stuffs, From my point of view, American students have more areas to focus on, in here they dont need to face lot of pressure on studies.

  • The purpose of viewing the video was to demonstrate a flat world - made flat by competing economies in China and India. And that happened because of the dot.com bubble which laid down the fiber optic cables connecting our country with theirs via the Internet. Now that you've finished viewing the video, what are some of your thoughts? Was it worthwhile to have viewed this video? Has it made you appreciate what you have? How can we say the world is flat and global all at the same time? Don't those images cancel each other out? Explain.
  • The video shows us different styles of studying in different culture, in America students get a lot of times to get involve in other curricular activities, most of them start earn by their own at the age og 18. But in India and China, students dont get enough time after completing their school work, and other tution things. But in other way they get focus on their future occupation and make choices of what they are gonna do in future. I dont feel very proud about our school-system, but also, students in India or China they are not getting space of their other works in life. But in America sutdents are gaining experience of real life. On the other had they are not gaining propoer academic knowledge, which can various problems in future.

  • Technology in classroom
  • Three remarkable things, are, 1st students dont have equal internet access- it relates with the Equality of access issue, 2nd not all students are comfortable with using computer- it relates with People and machines issue, and 3rd one would be there is not enough computers in schools, so this relates with the policies and standards issue.
  • Equality of access is one of the big issues in this topic, because all students are not having equal access in internet to do their school work.
  • "Downsides of technology"- one professor found one of her students who used laptop accessively did 11% worse than her other students. The use of internet is rapidly increasing and its causing students to loose their grades in school. It can be solved by limitng the time they are gonna spend online, it can be happen by engaging them with other activities.

  • What Will Facebook Reveal On Wednesday
  • Could it be the oft-discussed but even more oft-denied facebook phone? Mark Zuckerberg said: "At the end of the day, when people say 'building a phone' they actually can mean very different things," And if its not a phone, we are waiting for facebook to fire up a human-powered search engine.TechCrunch makes a few additional guesses, including an iPad app, a beefed-up version of Places or an expansion of Google Credits to become a site-wide currency.
  • The users and the administration group are the stake holder, because whatever changes its gonna take, that gonna make some effect in these peoples lives.
  • It kind of relates with the Globalization and Cultural Diversity, because facebook is a social networking site, and globalize with peoples in other countries, and if facebook is gonna make some changes thats gonna make it easy for everyone to globalize.
  • This issue is really interesting for me, because I have a facebook account and if it release anything new, it might get easier for us to socialize.

  • Facebook and Skype may friend each other
  • Facebook and Skype are getting ready to announce a "significant and wide-ranging" partnership that would integrate text messaging, voice chat and Facebook Connect, according to a report. For those who already use Facebook's instant messaging system within the program, incorporating Skype's video chat would be yet another reason to spend more time within the walled world of 500 million users.
  • The users and the authority of both sites are the stakeholders. The users are going to get more scope to interact with people. And that can be the center of attention of the people.
  • Globalization & Cultural Diversity:- It can be one of the Social & Ethical Issues in this matter, because by inventing it, people may get a wide way to interact with others, from different region.
  • Art, Entertainment & Leisure:- by creating this, people will get to know more about other kind of arts, entertainment and can spend their leisure time doing this
  • It can be a great new thing for the people who likes to interact with others, on social networking sites, and can get a chance to exchange their opinion, that can help them to spread their minds.

  • Twitter was hacked this morning
  • Twitter counter onmouseover security flaw. This morning when the users tried to access in Twitter, they couldn't! because it was hacked, impacting thousands of users of the popular microblogging site. This particular hack of Twitter.com was especially crafty, as it was enough for Web surfers to move their mouse cursors over links to activate the links, which sent them to spammers destinations, such as the one million followers of a former British prime minister, who found themselves inexplicably at a hardcore porn site based in Japan. The hack affects users of the Twitter site, and hasn't impacted users who use third-party applications, such as Tweetdeck. TechCrunch (Europe) also has an update that indicates users of the new Twitter interface, mostly here in North America, were also safe.
  • the users of Twitter and the administration groups are the stakeholder, because they had to face a lot of troubles.
  • It relates with peoples privacy and anonymity- which means to keep a restriction on what people can access in social networking sites, also security is a major key term for this, lack of security can make this kind of problems later in future again.
  • This article relates with me, because I also have a twitter account, and if the site gets in kind of problems like this, it can cause me, to loose my private information.
  • By creating more restricted privacy can solve this kind of issues, and the administrator should make a privacy rule to prevent this kind of problems.

  • Samsung's assault on Apple is underway, as the company unveils its plans for its new tablet PC as well as a new service that allows consumers to purchase or rent TV shows and movies on their Samsung mobile devices. Analysts say there is plenty of room for other entrants. Since the iPad launch, several companies have announced plans for products that tap into this market. Dell, Acer, Motorola, and LG Electronics have each said they have plans to make Android-based tablets. The Galaxy Tab could be among the most competitive in the near term, according to RBC Capital equities analyst Mark Sue.
  • People and Machines- People can get other options than Apple iPad to experience the accessability.
