  • Privacy & Anonymity is the main soical and ethical issue in questions for this formspring. No one knows who created the formspring and all of the posts are anonymous. Becuase of the inherent anonymity people were compelled to post mean and evil comments.
  • Art, Entertainment and Leisure would be an area of impact. People posted the mean comments as a form of entertainment at the leisure of others, not caring about hurting their feelings. Another possible area of impact would be health. Some one's mental health could be greately effected by seeing them insulted, they also might take it a step further and endanger their own physical health
  • The senario doesn't really bother me, I think some people got angery becuase people think differntly of them then they think of them selves. People need to realize with no consquences, people will say mean things, who cares what everyone else thinks.
  • Nothing, I would do nothing, if the website decsides to block the site, thats up to them, but in all honesty I don't think such a thing matters enough to warrent a legitiment response or course of action.
  • The rules of the site make sense, and the formspring created did not follow these rules, which is up to formspring to determine.

  • Why to dump your iPad
  • This article explains the desicion making process of one individual who decided to get rid of his ipad for the new galaxy tab
  • the stakeholders would be anyone with an ipad or anyone interested in the tablet market
  • this article deals with the social and ethical issues of people and machines, since the article explains how each tablet acts different from the other, and how your needs as a person defines which choice you should make
  • this article deals with business and employment as well as arts and entertainment. The business side of it is apple decision to not release a smaller tablet for the market looking for one, and their reasons for not doing so. The arts and entertainment side can be seen by all the users of these tablets, since the main reason for sales is for that reason exactly.
  • my opinion, why do people need tablets? get a computer lazy people. this dosn't effect me at all, both tablets mean nothing to me

  • Amazon selling anti-Amazon book
  • The article follows a man who wrote a book on how to manipulate the rating system on Amazon and make your book a best seller
  • Amazon and any one who buys books on amazon can be identified as the stakeholders
  • this article deals with the social and ethical issue of control, since the people who own amazon have little control over how books are rated so people can manipulate them to make their book seem better, it also deals with reliability, since when you use the Amazon best seller list, you expect that the book on the list is good, and thats why it is a best seller, but if manipulated this may not be true
  • This article effects bussiness and employment, since people can use the loop-hole to make them selfs more sucessesful in the bussiness world
  • I find this article funny, the fact that somebody was selling a book on how to beat amazon, on amazon

  • Facebook Privacy
  • The article explains how mand UIDS or usernames of facebook users were sold by small devolpers part of facebook, the article then showed the responses made by facebook, explaining how UIDS will now be encrypted and something like this wont happen again.
  • The stakeholders are anyone with a facebook account.
  • Privacy is an issue raised in this article, the privacy of the people whose addresses were sold was breached, and it will be hard for that to be returned to those people
  • The arts, entertainment and leisure was impacted, people who used facebook for entertainment and leisure can now be afraid that there private information will be released, business and employment was also impacted becuase the devolpers broke the agreement they had with facebook and business was made in the sale of these personal UIDS
  • I have a very small interest in this, I get junk mail regardless somehow, so if facebook gives away my email, it probably wont effect anything.

  • In US BMW factory workers get paid 15 dollars an hour, in Germany they are payed 24 euros or 33 US dollars an hour
  • I am suprised by the pay difference. The cost of living in the US is very high, likewise it pretty high in Germany as well, so the difference in pay shouldn't be there, people in America still have to pay outrageous mortgages and ridiculously high rent rates, so their wages should be the same if not more.
  • Other car compaines in Great Britan might offshore to the US for the same reasons Germany did. Any country with a high cost of living could start to offshore to the US and the parts that have low costs of living to save some money.

  • 1. The fact that careers are all but selected for students in India and China also allows them to focus more in particular fields, providing them the opportunity to take classes in that field before they are even out of high school. This drastically contrasts with American high school students who usually do not even think about their careers until they are preparing to apply to colleges and may even change their intended careers halfway through college. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Why?

I think the fact that, contrasted to Chineese and Indian students who have their careers chosesn for them at a young age, the American way of doing things in which you have a very long time to choose what feild of study you want to go into is useful. The Chineese and Indian students may be more experience in the feilds that they follow, but the American is more likely to be happy and content with their job, which helps to speed up productivity and moral in the work place.

  • 2. I think the students chosen to represent Americans were a pretty good depiction of some of the top students we have here. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

The students chosen were not good depictions of top students in America, they attend a very large school in the state of Indiana. The school is not very high rated in acedemics and the fact that both students were very high in their class ment a lot to their school, but compared to a lot of other better highschool is america, they wouldn't be considered the top, they gave a veiw of the average American student, not one on top.

  • 3. The purpose of viewing the video was to demonstrate a flat world - made flat by competing economies in China and India. And that happened because of the dot.com bubble which laid down the fiber optic cables connecting our country with theirs via the Internet. Now that you've finished viewing the video, what are some of your thoughts? Was it worthwhile to have viewed this video? Has it made you appreciate what you have? How can we say the world is flat and global all at the same time? Don't those images cancel each other out? Explain.

After viewing this video I have a greater comprehension of the global economy, I also have a greater appreciation for the life I have, and the fact that I have yet to chose or even think about the career I want to follow. This movie also showed me how flat the world is, and how other countries are starting to become more connected with each other and beginning to compete in a larger and larger global economy.

  • Technology in the Classroom
  • Its pretty amazing to me that new mexico and hawaii have 100% of their classrooms connected to the internet, the ratio on computers of to students is pretty crazy too, considering the ratio in w-l is prolly close to 1-1, and the fact that Illinois Tech is giving all of its freshmen iPads is remarkable
  • The fact that tuiton is rising to help cover the cost of an expanding network could be fixed if internet provoiding companies would stop being greedy with their bandwith and help college campuses out
  • One "downside of technology" is kids are starting to use internet short cuts and abbreviation, this could be solved by teachers being more strick about spelling and grammar at a young age to kids

  • 4chan attacks MPAA
  • The article is talking about an organized attack which orginated on 4chan, a popular image website, to attack the MPAA for attacking sites like the pirate bay and bringing them down. The attacks use DDoS which basically shuts down a site by pinging the IP adress rapidly and repeatedly
  • Anyone who illegally downloads anything should be interested
  • Control and Security are issues raised, this whole war started becuase the MPAA wanted to stop the illegal downloading of movies and other copy written materiel
  • It relates to me becuase I illegally download a lot of stuff/I go on 4chan a lot
  • I would solve the issue at hand by continueing the assult on the MPAA

  • 6 ways robots can already kill us
  • This article gives 6 things that robots have already been designed with that can be potentially deadly to the human race. The article is a little ridiculous and makes some pretty weird assumptions and is filled with odd humor.
