http://hothardware.com/News/ATT-Admits-the-Sad-Truth-It-Cant-Handle-the-iPhones-Needs/ The two social/ethical lissues that are connected to this article are reliability and people and machines. Reliabilty because AT&T is not being reliable to its customers. By putting out an expection of what their machine can do and then failing to meet that expections AT&T is losing credabilty. And people&machines because peole are trying to use this machine to make things easier and faster for them even though the machine might be failing them.

There are a couple of social and ethical issues that come up in this topic. One of them being people and machines, because the people that were saying things on this website were using the machine to express what they felt about other students. Another issue are policies. Formspring the website had the right to take this down because of policies against online bullying. Personally I feel as if the students had a right to write and express themselves on this website. And I don’t believe that the school should be involved in what students do when they are in their private property. If I was Washington-lee high school I would probably hold a meeting talking about online bullying and how it might effect how people feel, but I would not try to shut the website down. When I read the rules it sounds good but it is not realistic.

February 17, 2011 The artificial intelligence in this story is the fact Watson can answer question without human assistance. This machine knows what it knows and also knows what it does not know. The major stakeholders are the IBM Company and jeopardy. But that is at this moment later on in the future this machine can be produced in larger number for people that can put it to use, then the consumers can also be stakeholders. In the future if this machine can develop its knowledge of the natural language, and if it can hear and see; it can be used as a teacher.

  • In this article a female engineer discuss the stereotypes of females in the engineering world. That a woman engineer is something unorthodox, and that most people view engineers to only be men.
  • Problem: The problem is the lack of cultural diversity, and equality of access to everyone; without being biased because of race, gender, or other characteristics.

How does it relate to me?

  • Solution: The media, schools, and adults should start to have fair and equal exceptions for kids starting at a young age. Therefore; no matter who you are you can picture yourself going into the engineering field, or any other field.

Jan 04, 2011 [2] In Italy YouTube and other video services into TV stations are subjected to stricter regulations. Sites that have editorial control over their content they are then considered an "audiovisual service", which are subject to additional taxes, have to come down in 48 hours if it contains any slander, and are not allowed to show any inappropriate material at certain times of the day.The stakeholders in this issue are the people who work on the website, people who regulate the websites, and people who visit the websites. This is so because the people who work on the website are not allowed to put what ever they want on the website, the people who regulate the websites have to make sure that the websites abide to the knew rule, and the people who visit the website will not be able to go to the website they wanted to or what they thought it was.

1.What is the hourly salary of one of the newly hired BMW U.S. autoworkers? What is the hourly salary of the same autoworker if they worked in Germany? The U.S autoworkers make about 15 dollars per hour. The autoworker in Germany makes about double the U.S worker; so about 30 dollars.

2.Are you surprised by the pay differential between the U.S. and Germany? Why or why not? I am not surprised because there is a reason why Germany has a good economy. And since Germnay is known for cars and the quality of their cars the workers there might be more skilled; therefore they get a larger salary.

3.Can you think of other industries and/or countries that would offshore to the U.S.? Explain. I woukd think Japan would offshore to the U.S. Because they have less people and like Germany there car industry is larger and stronger then the U.S.

  • The three things that caught my eye were:

1-Teachers using computers as a learning aid and how teachers in fourth grade have a higher percentage of computer usage in the classroom then teachers in eighth grade. This would probably go under people and machines. 2-Louisiana's ratio of students per computer really shocked me as well, because 63:1 is very low. And you wonder how their academics is being effected by this, or maybe if it isn't being effected. This issue is about equality of access. 3-Percentage of students who said they never used the computer for school work. It is hard to believe as much time teens are on the computer that so little of that time is pent for school. This falls under People and Machines.

Solving the problem for Technology in the Classroom: More funding for schools who dont have the money to supply their school with computers, cameras, interactive bordes, etc. Because the more technology that schools are provided with the more ways that teachers can teach their students.

Downsides of Technology:
