  • Go to the Technology section of a news site. Find an IT article.
  • Post to your blog:
    • Link and title of the article
    • Synopsis of the article
    • Identify the stakeholders
    • Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article
    • Identify the area of impact (look at the front board on the left)
    • What is your opinion of the issue? i.e. How does it affect you? How do you feel about that?

Warmup:

  • Read the following article: "Judge Forces Employer To Rehire Workers Who Vented On Facebook"
  • Go to your blog and post the following to your blog (You may use a bulleted list:

    • Identify the stakeholders (people who have a vested interest in the scenario)
    • Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article

    • Respond to the following questions in your website (if we can get it working...)
    1. What 3 things surprise you?
    2. What questions come to your mind?
    3. What do you think the world will be like 5 years from now? 10? 20?
    4. What kind of effects do you think that this will have on people?
  • Create a blog at Blogger
  • Submit your blog's URL here
  • Web 1.0 vs. Web 2.0
    • Can you give examples of web-sites that did not exist 10 years ago, but are popular today?

  • IB ITGS Social & Ethical Issues Class Images Assignment
    1. Receive an assigned social/ethical key term
    2. Google Image Search for 3 different images that you feel best represent/explain that key term
    3. Write a brief caption/description of your images and how they represent the key term
    4. Add the images and caption to the appropriate slide in our class presentation
    5. Be sure to put your name in the caption too
