Goals for First Quarter

1. Set up a small network

Our Network.

1. 1. Install Server OS Completed, My computer has xubuntu server edition installed on it
   2. Set up Mail Server Semi-Completed, The server can be a mail server, but it has not been set up yet"
   3. Make Network work, computers working together and commutating. Completed, Computers can ping each other and all can access the internet
   4. Set up firewall Not Complete, still waiting on a NIC
2. Experiment with Network Security
   1. Research packet sniffing Complete, Found a program called Wireshark to sniff packets
   2. Install talk, or some other commutation means Complete, although talk never worked, we got pidgin to work
   3. Install Wireshark to sniff packets Complete, Nick's computer has Wireshark installed on it
   4. Successfully intercept a packet Complete, We intercepted multiple IM's between each other, we also managed to get a password hash"
   5. Try to reverse a password hash In progress
   6. Try to 'hack' into the mail server Not Complete

Goal Completion

1. We have Set up a Small network with three computers. Two running Xubuntu and my computer is running the server edition of ubuntu with an xubuntu GUI.
   1. I installed the server version of Ubuntu on my computer then got an xubuntu GUI to make it easier.

Goals for Second Quarter

1. Research and Understand Magnetic strip cards.
2. Build Magnetic strip reader.
3. Learn to Program Magnetic strips
4. Research the code for metro cards.
5. Put money on metro cards

7. Profit!
