You may begin the summer assignment at any time. You must have all of the below completed by the first day of school. The summer assignment is comprised of the following:
- Software development assignment (~2 hrs)
- CodingBat exercises (~2 hrs)
- Basic Creature Combat (~2 hrs)
Software Development Assignment
- Read 1.1 SYSTEMS LIFE CYCLE (pages 2 - 8)
- Complete Exercise 1.1 #2 on (page 9)
- Read 1.2 SYSTEMS ANALYSIS (pages 9 - 12)
- List the "classic ways" to investigate an existing system
- List the advantages and disadvantages of each "classic way"
- Read 1.3 SYSTEM DESIGN (pages 13 - 23)
- Read 1.4 SOCIAL SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER SYSTEMS (pages 24 - 29)
- Read 1.5 THE SOFTWARE LIFE CYCLE (pages 29 - 30)
- List and describe the major stages of the software life cycle
- Why is the software life cycle cyclical?
