Objective:

  • You will learn to navigate the Scratch website
  • You will explore and play different Scratch games
  • You will be able to download different Scratch games
  • You will analyze the Scratch code of games that interest you

  1. Begin by exploring http://www.scratch.mit.edu/
  2. Be sure to check out Scratch - Games of Glory
  3. If a project interests you, then play with it and check out its code inside
  4. Choose your 3 favorite games out of the hundreds
  5. Create a Google Doc named Favorite Games and Ideas
  6. Put your name at the top of the Google Doc
  7. In the Google Doc, write up the following for each game:
    • Game name (use a bolded heading)
    • URL link to the game
    • Screenshot of the game
      • Command-Shift-4 and then highlight the game window
      • The screenshot will be on the Desktop
      • Drag-n-drop the image into the Google Doc
    • Describe in a couple sentences the part of the game that you would be interested in adding to your own games
  8. Add another bolded heading titled Additional Game Ideas
    • Use a bullet list to describe as many game components that you would want in a future game (you must have at least 10 different components listed)
