Tuesday - Thursday (9/18/12 - 9/20/12)
Warmup:
- Find an IT article from one of the following technology websites list
- Note: Stay away from articles that are just discussions about commercial products and their releases (e.g. iPhone 5). Try to find an article with some social/ethical significance
- Post to your blog:
- Link and title of the article
- Synopsis of the article
- Identify the stakeholders
- Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article
- Identify the area of impact (look at the front board on the left)
- What is your opinion of the issue? i.e. How does it affect you? How do you feel about that?
Agenda:
- Warmup discussion
- Return S&E Vocab Quiz
- Finish Web 2.0 Presentations
- Areas of Impacts & Web 2.0
- Create a Google Presentation.
- Each slide on the presentation should have each of the areas of impact
- Politics & Government
- Environment
- Education & Training
- Business & Employment
- Health
- Arts, Home, & Leisure
- On each slide, have the following:
- A *specific* example of Web 2.0 being used in that area (e.g. POTUS's Twitter account
- How that Web 2.0 example is used in that area of impact
- The social impact/significance of its use in that area of impact
- Share with Mr. Bui
Friday (9/14/12)
Agenda:
- Take out earphones if you have them. Watch the following videos:
- Find a website that is considered a Web 2.0 website. Every person needs to have a unique Web 2.0 website.
- Write down your name and website on the clipboard at the front
- Post in your blog responses to the following:
- Name of site
- Link to site
- Explanation of how it is Web 2.0
- Estimated # of users who use the site
- What is the social significance and impact? Explain in several sentences.
- What social ethical issues are there involved in the website? Explain.
- What areas of impact would the site relate to? Explain.
- Create a Google Docs Presentation about your Web 2.0 website
- Create slides for the information that you posted from your hw assignment
- This should be a presentation, so there should not be a lot of text!
Homework:
- Make sure you've completed My first website assignment
- Make sure you've completed the Web 2.0 blog post and presentation
- We will be presenting the presentations during next class
Wednesday (9/12/12)
Warmup:
- Read the following article: Twitter Ordered to Release OWS Protester’s Data or Be Fined for Contempt
- Go to your website and post the following to it (You may use a bulleted list:
- Link and title of the article
- Synopsis of the article
- Identify the stakeholders (people who have a vested interest in the scenario)
- Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article
- Identify the area of impact (look at the front board on the left)
- What is your opinion of the issue? i.e. How does it affect you? How do you feel about that?

- Receive an assigned social/ethical key term
- Google Image Search for 3 different images that you feel best represent/explain that key term
- Write a brief caption/description of your images and how they represent the key term
- Add the images and caption to the appropriate slide in our class presentation
- Be sure to put your name in the caption too
- IB ITGS Social & Ethical Issues Quiz on Wednesday (9/12/11)

- Search the web and add at least 3 websites that are not already on the document

- Your password is your student ID number
- Go to Apple (upper left) -> System Preferences -> Accounts -> Change Password
