- Install the Java Development Kit on your computer
- Install NetBeans IDE on your computer (Java SE version)
- Create a new Java project named HelloWorldProject
- Inside HelloWorldProject, create a new Java class called HelloWorld and print "hello, world" to the screen to test it out
