Warmup:
- Bring up your Codecademy account
- Complete the progress check survey
Agenda:
- Introduction to HTML and CSS
- Complete all the HTML Basics (I, II, & III) today: HTML & CSS
- Complete each of the projects as well
- Complete the progress check survey
Tuesday (11/27/12)
Agenda:
- Multimedia Formats Video
- Go into iMovie and render the video to a video file formant (e.g. mpeg, avi, etc.)
- Burn the following files onto a CD (provided at the front by Mr. Bui
- Your JPG files
- Your MP3 and WAV sounds
- Your rendered video file
- Label your CD with your name and date
- Create a CD case out of paper
- Write your name on the CD case (be careful not to use a marker that bleeds through the paper
- Introduction to HTML and CSS
- Our first HTML file
- Signup for a Codecademy account
- Complete all the HTML Basics (I, II, & III) today: HTML & CSS
Friday - Tuesday (11/16/12 - 11/20/12)
Agenda:
- Multimedia File Formats
- Multimedia Formats Video - create the following:
- JPG high quality and JPG low quality images of yourself
- MP3 and WAV sounds of your voice
- Create a video of yourself presenting the differences between your GIF, JPG, and BMP images. Also present the differences between *# MP3, M4A, and WAV. This will be the most time-consuming portion of the assignment because you will need to create a movie using iMovie that has transitions and sound.
- Be sure your video has title screen(s) and still shots of the pictures.
- If possible, try to illustrate the loss of quality by recording something as MP3. (this may be difficult, but try it out)

Warmup:
- Read the article: Yes, the FBI and CIA can read your email. Here's how
- Post on your blog/website responses to the following:
- Link and title of the article
- Synopsis of the article
- Identify the stakeholders (people who have a vested interest in the issue in general)
- Identify AND describe the social and ethical issues related to the article. Be sure to choose from the list below:
- Reliability and integrity
- Security
- Privacy and anonymity
- Intellectual property
- Authenticity
- The digital divide and equality of access
- Surveillance
- Globalization and cultural diversity
- Policies
- Standards and protocols
- People and machines
- Digital citizenship
- Identify the areas of impact (there can be multiple)
- Describe the advantages/benefits of allowing intelligence agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA) to read peoples' e-mails?
- Describe the disadvantages/costs of allowing intelligence agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA) to read peoples' e-mails?
- What is your opinion of the issue? i.e. How does it affect you? How do you feel about that?
- How would you mitigate the issue(s) at hand?

- Return 1st Quarter Exams
- Work on ITGS Project
- Share updated Criteria A, B, and C with Mr. Bui
Wednesday (11/7/12)
- Turn in your Criterion B: Analysis
- Criterion C: Project schedule - Media:ITGSProject_CriterionC.pdf
- Be sure to use the Criterion C form: Media:ITGSProject_Forms.zip
- Your project schedule should have about 20 different detailed actions
- Actions should include:
- Each of the Criterion's sections
- Analysis
- Designs
- Development should be broken up into at least 12 different pieces
- Testing each of the pieces of your project
- Obtaining feedback from the user
- Fixing the project using the feedback
- Final delivery and evaluation should be the end of February (2/22/13).
- Each deadline's details should be 2-3 sentences
- Due by the end of class
