  • Freedom Toaster kiosk software downloaded from Seneca team project
  • Installed and ran kiosk software
  • Freedom Toaster kiosk software tested --> slow burning
  • Alex turned a personal server into the Freedom Toaster prototype (v2.0)--> Burning ubuntu 8.04 works fine
  • Tested burned ubuntu 8.04 by installing on new machine donated by Phyllis Gandy

  • Software installed and stress-tested, seems stable enough to deploy

  • Development Progress
    • Modified software strings to match the WLHS IT club info instead of the Seneca info
    • Added 'graphical improvments' (locale-independent images like a spinning CD while burning)
    • Removed the little "X" cursor from the screen because a touchscreen with a cursor would look awkward and maybe confuse stupid people
    • In process of adding a progress bar while burning to view progress at a glance
      • So far the PyGTK documentation says it's easy but proves to be difficult

    • Theresa began process of drafting kiosk design in qCAD (computer-assisted drafting)

    • Harrison began process of finding sponsors for touch-screen, etc.
